The Journey of My Mother's Son

Mar 14, 2022

In this episode of “The Journey of My Mother’s Son” podcast, Sandy joins me to co-host our conversation as we sit down to talk with Mike and Terri McIlraith.

Mike and Terri are fellow full-time RVers who have an incredible passion to give back.  We first met them in Antigo, Wisconsin during our first A Year to Volunteer project at the Raptor Education Group.  Sandy and I arrived at the project midway through.  We were working on different parts of the project, so we really didn’t have much of an opportunity to get to know them.

As fate would have it, we met up with them and A Year to Volunteer co-founders, Shar and Phil Roos at the Strawberry Fields RV Resort in Florida.  We were able to get to know them better after spending some time and sharing a few meals together.

After a short visit at the Vancleave, Mississippi project, we are now together in Lake Charles, Louisiana working on helping to get Sam Houston Jones State Park rebuilt for the local community.

During the conversation we share stories of what inspired us to start this RV lifestyle and why we feel it is important to give back.
